Dear Subscriber Friend:
Let's face it, in the Magazine Publishing Business, we serve two masters. The readers, and then the advertiser. Without a strong readership, our advertisers can't get the value out of their advertising dollars, which enable us to attract better writers, and photographers and to focus on constantly improving The Downtowner.
The areas of South Metro Denver in which we live, work and play need a quality, focused resource like The Downtowner; this has been my passion since starting this magazine over two years ago, and will continue to drive me to grow and improve my magazine for your benefit.
Frankly, this is where I can use your help. I want to prove to the larger potential advertisers in my magazine just how valuable you, my readers, are; I want to prove to them you are the smartest, most discerning and most affluent consumers in the Denver Metro area. So you might be asking yourself how can I do that without jeopardizing your individual confidentiality and anonymity?
Well, I came up with the idea of determining some collective demographic statistics which might be of interest to potential advertisers. An example might be to approach potential restaurant advertisers with data that shows:
"83% of our readership, eats out at restaurants an average of 5.7 times a month. Also, an average reader household of 4 spends $ 95 for dinner on average. They prefer restaurants with valet parking, and they value a more diverse wine selection. "
With this information, we are able to concentrate our efforts on what is really important to you.
Thank you for taking time to fill out our Readers' survey. Please be assured that your information will NEVER be sold or used for any purpose other than to validate your free subscription to The Downtowner Magazine.
We very much appreciate your willingness to participate and as such you will be entered to win $100.00 cash. Drawing to be held July 31st, 2007. Must be 18 or older to win, one entry per household..
I greatly appreciate and sincerely value your help.
Respectfully,
Danial R. Griggs
